feathery beginnings Issue #3

Our fledgling community met for the first time online last week and we shared why we were interested in connecting, what season of creativity we currently thought we were in, and some had no idea which is totally fine!

Jaz shared her journey of gaining more clarity of where she feels her creative energy needs to go. She has designed the retreat registration page - so beautiful - and is preparing our food at the retreat. If you are coming you are in for a delicious experience. Following that she has decided to pursue a new path that is emerging, and may stay connected with us, but may not. Thanks to Jaz for all her wonderful creative ideas and random deep thoughts.

I am so excited for her and this is exactly what we hope happens for women in this community. That each one finds their unique creative contribution in the world and has the courage and resources to follow their path. Being part of this journey makes my heart sing and turns me into an enthusiastic cheerleader.

Another friend, Jeannie, who wasn't sure this community was for her came onto our zoom and has just signed up for a one off beginner-friendly art class. She says, "I likely wouldn't have been inspired to have a go if I hadn't been part of the zoom meeting the other night. I am really challenged artistically and can feel quite despondent, even when I know it's about the process and not the end result, so signing up is something rather significant for me. I'm actually looking forward to it!"

How cool is that!

One gathering of rather hesitant and keen-for-more women has already inspired Jeannie to try something new. A gentle step out of the nest to try a new flight pattern.

our first retreat is THIS WEEKEND!

Saturday February 21- Sunday February 22

Where rest, nourishment and connection fosters creativity.

We are getting excited as we pull together the final details. We can promise you will have plenty of freedom to wander on the property, find a spot to daydream, join in on a session, laugh and chat over wonderful food, and of course - get creative.

Today is absolutely the last day to register on our retreat page.

If you can't make this weekend there are others later in the year and of course you can join us for the free online gatherings in between retreats. Our next online gathering will be in mid March.

the venue

Peacemakers Retreat Centre is a 15 acre property with a short bush walk, a labyrinth, 5 cattle and 5 sheep, 100yr old trees and a beautiful old villa built around 1900. The Mother House, as we call her, can sleep up to 18 in 9 rooms. We are choosing to limit the creative retreat weekends to 12 participants to ensure plenty of space and room to create. There is a large upstairs lounge and a smaller downstairs lounge, large dining room and fully equipped kitchen. It is a spacious venue with high ceilings and lots of character.

We may have a fire pit in the evening (weather dependent) and there is the option to go to the hot pools at a discounted rate at the conclusion of the weekend.
