feathery beginnings Issue #2

Our fledgling community is taking shape, much to our joy and delight.

Rose, Jaz and I have fizzing hearts as we chat with women who are resonating with joining a community of support for them and their creative flow.

Some are tentative, wondering how they will find time, others are saying they need rest and restoration, some can only manage the online option, and not the retreat. No matter your needs, you will be welcomed, supported and encouraged in whatever phase of the creativity cycle you are in.

The summer season of the creative cycle is where I have felt most satisfied. In this season I produce creative material that others can see and experience and give me feedback. Over time I have learnt to embrace all the seasons of the creative cycle. The winter, when I sit and ponder, watching nature, particularly the soaring hawks. I read, listen to podcasts, have conversations and watch movies. All these are necessary input for creating rich soil, the ground that will sustain the growth to come. Then spring. New shoots emerging, time for experimenting before the rapid growth of summer and the harvesting and letting go of autumn.

What season do you find yourself in ?

online gathering

You may have been a bit of a ‘lone wolf’ with your creativity until now and are keen to find your fellow creatives, seek some inspiration, or rest and rejuvenate. All this whilst held in community with others who love all things creative - we are so glad to have connected with you!

No problem if you can’t make a retreat yet, we have you covered.

Feel free to join in at any time with our online meet-ups, where the three of us will share our dreams for this community. We will also be dying to hear where you are feeling stuck in the nest, what is tempting you out onto the edge, and where you are already flying free. We will have some thoughts to share too, to encourage you in your everyday wonderings.

If you are on the fence about attending the retreat this is a great opportunity to check us out and meet others who might be going.

Join us online, Monday February 9th from 7:30-9:00.

Please book in for the call, we can’t wait to see you!

our first event

Saturday February 21- Sunday February 22

Our retreats will offer you plenty of freedom to wander on the property, find a spot to daydream, join in on a session, laugh and chat over wonderful food, and of course - get creative.

Register on our retreat page where you will find all the finer details of is being offered over the weekend.

If you can't make this weekend there are others later in the year and of course you can join us for the free online gatherings in between retreats.

the venue

Peacemakers Retreat Centre is a 15 acre property with a short bush walk, a labyrinth, 5 cattle and 5 sheep, 100yr old trees and a beautiful old villa built around 1900. The Mother House, as we call her, can sleep up to 18 in 9 rooms. We are choosing to limit the creative retreat weekends to 12 participants to ensure plenty of space and room to create. There is a large upstairs lounge and a smaller downstairs lounge, large dining room and fully equipped kitchen. It is a spacious venue with high ceilings and lots of character.

We may have a fire pit in the evening (weather dependent) and there is the option to go to the hot pools at a discounted rate at the conclusion of the weekend.
