Where rest, nourishment and connection fosters creativity

Welcome
Kia Ora, and welcome to the fledgling community.
We are a group of creative women who meet on-line and through retreats to connect and nourish our creativity.
Retreats offer the added dimension of rest, and permission is given to use the retreat days in whichever way suits you best.

Stepping into greater creativity can feel like emerging from an egg or stretching our wings, or trying some exploratory flights.
For this work, Rose and Shannon have discovered two key components.
1. a trustworthy space to allow our soul to come out of hiding. To ensure this we embrace the touchstones from the Centre for Courage and Renewal.
2. a community of support to cheer us on as we explore and experiment. With others we learn to listen to our soul and discover the creativity that is waiting to emerge from us.
About us
The common theme that threads through Shannon’s life is seeing potential in others and collaborating with them to assist more of their emergence in the world. Whether through coaching sport, listening well through counselling, being a mother and care-giver, or facilitating group spaces. All these creative endeavours have more recently been joined by old-school writing with fountain pen on paper. The act of using beautiful ink, green or purple, to form words has seen poetry and short stories arrive on the page. This intuitive writing has helped Shannon connect more deeply with nature, to heal, and find a new unexpected sense of her ‘work-to-do-in-the-world’. Having stumbled into creativity with the support and encouragement of others, Shannon longs to facilitate spaces for others to do the same. Especially those who say they are not creative. (Pssst - we are all creative!)
Rose loves story. She has heard many stories shared, particularly children’s stories of grief, loss and change. She sees the huge treasure that are people’s stories, recognizes the creativity, resilience and beauty that each story carries. Rose also writes, having focused on producing children’s picture books about emotional literacy and problem solving. She enjoys the challenge of breaking down big ideas into simpler concepts for young minds and particularly loves that moment when an idea hits just right and true magic happens. Rose’s current project is a bit of a gnarly one, as she is writing her first adult non-fiction book, due to come out in the first half of 2026. Rose’s writing develops best when she has unlimited access to tea, colourful teapots to pour from, happy mugs to drink from and of course, fresh baked goods to nibble on. Rose’s own story of creativity is crooked and winding, with joys, disappointments and mishaps along the way, so she understands the spectrum of feelings we can feel when it comes to our own very personal creative pursuits.

Testimonials
The retreat felt like a mini break for me, where I was given the space and opportunity to pause, consider and reflect with other women who I felt were there for similar reasons.
The calm, quiet approach of the programme was encouraging and also felt nurturing.
Breaks and opportunities to chat and connect with others didn't feel rushed, and although there was clearly a timetable to follow, I so appreciated the easygoing nature of nothing being rigid or even 'compulsory'.

You have a special gift and I loved receiving from you.
